Pin weights
I did a search on pin weights and the results were 280 threads without anything resembling the subject.
I read that the pin weights on the 36' and 38' models are 4200# loaded. About 1000# more than the brochure dry weight. Our TV is a 2011 GMC 3500 Dually CC 4wd. GVWR is 13000#. TV weight when ready to travel is 8800#. Looks like I might be on the edge. I'm not real comfortable being on the edge.
I see signatures with this level of truck and wondering how its working out.
A new bigger truck is not acceptable to the DW.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Loaded for a long term trip we have a tougne weight of 4380. Empty from the factory the tongue weight was 3280. I carry some fairly heavy stuff in the basement.
2007 GMC 3500 weights loaded for long term trip:
Steer Axle - 4720
Drive Axle - 7940
Trailer Axles - 13380
Haven't weighed the 2012 yet. I agree that GVWR is 13000 but also look at each axle, the front is rated for 5600 and the rear is 9375 (4X4 model). You will probably be right at the GVWR but well under each axle and well under max tire load.
On Edit: Weights include 2 passengers, half full fresh water, 86 gallons of fuel and lots of tools in the truck bed. I have truck weights without trailer if you need them.

Leo,
You had a pin weight of 4380, yet the rear axle of the truck when hitched was only 7940?

Rear axle was 3560 without trailer. I did the math in my head. Did I subtract wrong?
When I weighed only the truck I'm not sure about the fuel load but I know the hitch was installed and I believe the aux fuel tank was installed (although I'm not 100% sure) and it may have been only me in the truck.

From the weight ticket, obviously not...I am just not used to a dually weighing that light. My Ford has about 5000 on the rear axle without the trailer.

Current setup:
Stopped by the Cat scales in Holland Mi. We are loaded with 50 gallons of water. Filled up with fuel and got on the scales:
Steer Axle = 5040#
Drive Axle = 6220#
Trailer Axle = 11880#
Gross Weight = 23140
Pulled off the scales and dropped the rig. Got back on the scales:
Steer Axle = 5060#
Drive Axle = 3860#
Gross Weight = 8920#

"A new bigger truck is not acceptable to the DW".....
How about a used bigger truck ? And for less money than you have in your current truck...that should at least get her attention.

You have a pin on that trailer of 2340lbs total trailer 14220lbs
You should expect most Mobile Suites to add 2000lbs pin wt. So your expected rear axle wt will be in the range of 8160lbs Total truck wt loaded with trailer on it in the range of 13200lbs.
Yes, you will, be near or over the GVWR and under the rear GAWR.
Depending on what you load your actual wts may change, but this gives you a ball park look.

I have a far different tow vehicle but can confirm the 4300+ pin weight from our rig.

Pin Weight
Both of my Mobile Suites the 06 and the 09 have pin weights between 4300 and 4500 depending on how much water and other stuff I have in the basement.
I don't get in truck fights anymore I just drive what I know will handle the weight and make me comfortable. I can't remember right now what the front axle is rated at on my 450 I think its 6250 but I know the rear is good for 11000 so I have no axle concerns.
As always good camping
