leak on black tank

Where my flush hooks up at on the black tank the seal is leaking. Looks impossible to get to without pulling the tank. Any suggestions. Can't even see half of the screws.

It's most likely NOT leaking from the fitting. Mine did the same thing. Huck told me that there is a fitting behind the wall in the pantry. You should have an access panel next to the outside wall that you can reach through and tighten the fittings that lead to the flush into the tank. You can see it leaking if you have a flashlight.

It's not the fitting the hose goes on, it is the flange gasket on the tank that holds the fitting to the tank. I can see the leak. also a 32TK3 doesn't have a pantry.

You'll probably have to get to it from the bottom of the trailer. That will mean removing a section of the bottom covering from the rig to make an access hole to the tank. Hopefully it will be a simple repair once you get to the problem. Some eterna bond tape might help close the new hole in the basement cover. Be careful of all the fiberglass insulation, you'll need to put it back in place.

The sewer leaks and piping breakage was just one of my major issues with my 38RL3. The sewer piping is too long and with just one little flimsy strap holding everything, it allows all the piping to move back and forth damaging pipe fittings, breaking shutoff valves, and loosing clamps at the tanks. Some have cut some of the piping off and I chose the unistrut supports to hold the 3 inch sewer piping in place and not allowing it to move as a permanent solution. I got extremely tired of having to make repairs every time I used it. The piping also destroyed the plastic box that contains the shut-off valves. When my tanks would leak I would just tighten the clamps at the outlet of the tank.

I am having a similar problem, but I think my leak in on the back side of the utility box where the flush line penetrates the plastic wall of the box. Most of the water is going into the black tank and out the sewage line but some is running back inside the lower section of the utility box through a seam in the box and some is running off the back side of the plywood shelf the water heater sits on and falling into the insulation below.

I located the access panel in the lower right hand corner of the pantry but did not have time to open it yet. Based on where I think the leak is will I be able to access it through the panel or will I have to remove the protective panel and insulation and come up from below the trailer? Any other suggestions?

Send a message via ICQ to Huck
BillA,

Try in through the pantry first.
You will see a couple hose clamps that may be leaking.

If you're referring to the food pantry, yes I have one but it's on the opposite side of my leak. I was referring to a clothes pantry/harper.

Well I keep putting sealant on, poured on from up top via heat duct hole in bathroom floor, smeared what I could from underneath, not a pretty sight and it no longer leaks.
