Chevy 550 experiences anyone?

Looking at an 07 Chevy 550 with airbags, 20K 5er hitch in a custom hauler bed. What should I be looking for...

I looked at them a few years back. Make certain you have a good towing capacity. The Allison Transmission they put in made the determination. Don't recall the exact difference, but there was. The ones I looked at were right at the max weight for the vehicle after they put the custom body on and the upgrades in the cab. Good luck!

We looked at them in 2006, but the weight of the 5500 reduced the max towing capability. So it wasn't much of an upgrade from our 2005 3500 Chevy.

Plus, the truck bed was much too high to tow our Elite Suite (18.5 GVWR). Then Ford came out with a '08 F450 in 2007.
