Good Sam Flying J Credit Card
Well, just used our new Good Sam RV Pilot Flying J credit card at a local Flying J here in Ohio. As those traveling through Ohio may know, Flying J's here have both a cash and a credit price on diesel. With the new card, you get the discount price off of the cash price so all said, instead of paying $4.19 per gallon of diesel, we paid $4.05. Now for a savings of $0.14 per gallon, and the fact we will pay the balance in full each month, I would say this is a great offer from Good Sam and Flying J!! Just thought I'd share.

I don't have their credit card but I do use the RV club card and get the cash price plus off on fuel. It comes in handy.

I use the RV Frequent Feuler card along with my VISA. I get the cash price plus any accumulated discounts. Additionally, I am not bound by any maximum fill limits based on credit card.

So far, haven't found a FJ that was competitive even using the discount. Easy to find 20cents + less with gasbuddy.com
They used to always be low/lower, but not any more since the bankruptcy and Pilot purchase.

Yes, this is an old thread, but still good advice. Like wing, I don't use Love's, Pilot/Flying J, because even with discounts, they're always higher than anyone else. The only 'plus' for them is easy in and out. And I, too, use Gas Buddy but call ahead to see if their location will accommodate a big rig. Some don't list a phone number, but that's why Al Gore invented Google. Finally, I use a Sam's Club Master Card. They give a 5% discount on any fuel stop, plus 3% at restaurants/fast food.

Old thread but timely all the same. I have begun to find that GasBuddy has a lot of mis-information posted as to prices--more times than I can count, have found some pricing posted on diesel at stations that don't even sell it. Since I drive about 40k miles yearly, fuel prices are important to me and FJ/Pilots don't cut it for me.
Have recently been using GasGuru and so far, find it accurate and the app loads faster on my iPhone--don't know why. Tried to update GB and it still did not get the app working correctly for me.

Thanks for the heads up on Gas Guru; I’ll give it a try on my upcoming trip. As far as misinformation, yes, you are correct, which makes it even more important to call ahead and check clearances awa prices.

I can hold 90 gallons so I can decide to wait until the next day or cut off in a campground to get some. I've been in way to many tight gas stations with the 5er and just don't like doing that. If I'm desperate I'll use a truck stop while on the road.

My 60gal aux tank went with the old 450--sure miss it and the potential savings on fuel.
Looking at options for the new one...

Joe, what I find with the auxiliary tank is how handy it is buying fuel only every second day. And like you mentioned, nice to save a few bucks in the process.

Those big aux tanks would be nice to take advantage of cheaper fuel when it can be found. But some, like me, who have pushed and exceeded the envelope on weight, cannot afford the luxury of 20 - 60 gallons of extra fuel.
