Plumbing problems

I. Have no water going into the hot water tank . The bypass valve is in the correct position and if I divert the water I have water coming out of the hot water tap. I think that there is a check valve in the cold water line going into the hot water tank but I do not have a manual for this camper. I have done this several years now and never had a problem. I have a 2004 Fleetwood Wilderness. Any help would be appreciated.
Stan.

The diverter valve--one of those 3-way types? Either one direction or the other?
If there is a check valve in the water line to the water heater, it should be directly behind the heater itself where the line connects.
Let us know what you find to fix it.

Plumbing problems

My question was " is there a check valve In the cold water line going to the hot water heater. There is a small brass fitting in the cold water line to the hot water heater and I believe that is the check valve. There is only one two way valve and that is in a line that connects to the cold water going to the heater and also connects to the hot water line coming out of the heater. I am planning on putting in a new bypass kit and eliminate that brass valve or whatever it is. Everything is in a hard place to get to so it will take a while. I plan on putting in two valves, one on the cold water line and one on the hot water line.

Certainly, it isn't easy getting to these valves/connections on any RV--
Sounds like you have a handle on how to fix it, sorry I didn't understand the question.
Most RVs have a valve on the cold water line that does not shut off flow, but is there to direct full flow to the water heater in one position and by turning the handle part way in the other direction, part of the cold water flow is diverted into the hot water line coming out of the WH in order to lower the temp of the water if too hot--a 'mixing valve' may be more descriptive, but it should actually be a '3-way' in that flow comes in and can be sent out in one of 2 directions--direct into the WH or part of the cold flow across to the WH OUT side to mix with the hot water and reduce the temp.
Hope I am not over-working this, but hard to make a picture with words....

Thank you very much for the help. Can you tell me where I might download a parts or user manual for my 2004 Fleetwood Wilderness 5th wheel.

Stan,
I don't think you can find much info on any manuals for RVs--if one exists for your model, it will be so generic as to be useless. Much better to look on the appliance mfgs site for various units installed on your trailer. Probably no wiring nor plumbing diagrams exist.
We all have to learn about our units the hard way...
