Diesel Pump Nozzles

I have not been on the road pulling a 5th wheel with a diesel pick up truck in 13 years. Although I have always had a diesel pickup I go to the car pumps to buy diesel.
The last time I camped the semi-truck pumps at truck stops had larger diameter nozzles which were too large for my pickup truck. Obviously I had to chose fuel stations wisely. I would have paid the extra money to fill up at a truck stop for the convenience of using the Semi truck pumps. I have a 2004 F250 diesel. Are pickup trucks now able to use the larger nozzles?

Thanks, Friz

Friz, we regularly use the truck lanes and the nozzle WILL fit, although ever so slightly. It also fit on our 2011, 2014 and 2016 F350's.

That I remember they fit our 2003 F-350. One thing to remember is to put it on the slowest setting. It will still fill you truck faster then the car side pumps.

Yes, the truck pump nozzles fit, but getting the fuel to flow slow enough to not pop back is a hassle--by the time the auto shutoff works, the fuel has already popped back up/out. Having the aux tank, I can use regular pumps whenever I am running solo.

Today, finally needed fuel. Drove over to a US 301 truck stop and successfully stuck one of the big rig nozzles in. Thanks for all the help and feedback.

DO.NOT.WALK.AWAY from one of these large nozzles, just take a look at the diesel on the aprons everywhere.
