Rough technique is to put your fist with thumb extended upward at the rear corner of the bed. This should give you 6” clearance.

I lowered my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 4x4 last year by 2” with a kit I ordered on-line. The kit has new rear springer hangers, and new front keys for the track bar adjustments. Only downside is a rougher ride, but it’s a 4x4!

At the tailgate I am only 5-6". More to the front of the trailer midway on the bed I am a good 7-8".
