Slide out creeping out while in motion
Hi all,
2007 32 TK3 Mobile Suites. Original owner, full-timer, with many road miles.
The side walk slide has started to creep out while travelling. Every 40 to 50 miles the slide creeps out about 6". Slides and landing jacks are hydraulic.
Any thoughts????
Larry

You've got a leak in one of your lines or a bad solenoid. We had that kind of problem years ago with a Montana we owned, one of the lines to the bedroom slide was leaking.

My guess is a piston seal leak inside the hydraulic cylinder.

Call Lippert Customer support 574-537-8900 and ask for Melvin. He knows his CHIT!!! He used to work at a hydraulic shop.
He was the only one to help me figure out why my front rams would not stay up when hitched.

Yep, I agree. Most likely a piston seal leak.
So far, the creeping slide has been an annoyance. Bumpy roads cause it creep.
We will schedule a repair with our dealer in Lake Havasu.
Thanks for all the input.
Larry, currently at the Elks Lodge in St. George, UT.

After you retract landing gear go inside & bump the switches for all slides. Lippert told me this & it works.
This was 10 years ago when I bought my DRV. It worked till I sold it this year.

Thank you, we will try your suggestion.
As a follow-up, we have reversed the order in which we bring the slides in. Seems to have helped.

You need to do a Bi-pass test on that cylinder.

Thank you. I know that the problem has not been corrected. I will have my dealer in Lake Havasu City repair it. I really appreciate your suggestion.
My wife and I are in our 21st year of fulltime RVing. If there is anything that I have learned in the last 21 years is that not all repair facilities are qualified to perform repairs on my 5th wheel. Reference the time that I requested that the wheel bearings be examined and repacked. After a cross country trip I experienced a major brake failure on one of the trailers wheels. When the technician pulled the wheel and hub off of the axle, I discovered different colored grease from the rear and front bearings which indicated a hurry-up job on the repack job.
So, for now the problem is manageable. I will keep and I eye on it and schedule a repair at my dealer when I am in his area.
