Truck is Sold

Sold my Dodge today, feel like I have given away my first-born son. Too bad Dodge won't make a bigger truck

I have been reading in various places that Dodge was going to bring out a 4500/5500 series truck for the 2007 year? Have not seen any photos or if it will look like the Ram pickups

I heard that it was going to have the Mercedes deisel. i'm waiting to see what the towing capability of it will be. I'm afraid I'm going to have to either switch to Ford or go to an HDT. Time will tell.

2008 45/5500 cab chassis

Dodge web site has info on the new trucks at http://www.dodge.com/

Scroll down to commercial/fleet located on the left side of the screen and follow the links.

Local Dodge fleet manager advises they have 6 on order for late Aug or early Sept delivery. He also states sold unit orders will receive priority over dealer stock units.

Weight rating is in line for our use, GVW16500/GCVW26000 and they have huge disk brakes. 5500 only has stiffer springs for increased GVW but would still be limited to 26000 max GCVW.

They are cab/chassis only, no factory box available as yet so aftermarket may be the only option. Fleet manager is looking into the dimension differences to find out if a 07 or 08 pickup box would bolt on or what mods would be required. (Indications are the Cabs are the same)

The TCD is de-rated on hp (305) and torque (610) to provide a designed life of 350,000 miles.

Looking like Dodge is going to get a real tow truck!

Yes they are coming out with a dodge 4500 and 5500 in 2007. They have to have an after market bed put on them now. But in July or August they are supposed to be coming out with a regular pick up bed attached. Wish they had that one in the mega cab but they don't . But it does come with the 4 door crew cab. Comes with an exhaust brake and can get 4 wheel drive with positive traction. 4500 dodge fuel tank standard 52 gal. with an option of 22 additional gals.
We have been looking at them. Seriously considering one.
