We have a 2009 MS 38tksb3 and have the new Trail-Air Tri Glide. We had a problem with chucking. It was so bad we thought we would have to wear neck braces. Went back to dealer and they worked all day changing settings on hitch, trailer, even changing hitch, changing trucks and then when backing the unit back into the bay we noticed the front to back movement in the truck hitch of about 1/2". We have the Husky hitch and the main bolt holding the hitch to the hitch stand was loose. We tighted the nut on the bolt and solved the problem. Check to see if you have any forward to back play in the hitch and check for wear in the hitch jaws or on the king pin. If slider hitch check for wear in the holes on the slider rail.

Anyone have experience with both older Trailair without triglide and new Trailair Triglide? If so how significant is the reduction in chucking? Can Triglide be adapted to a standard Trailair hitch?

We had the regular Trailair for two years, then installed the triglide pin on that/old pin box and traveled about 3K miles with it and I am convinced that it takes much of the chucking out. Yes the triglide can be installed on the triglide pin box that you have, just tell Dale if you have the extended pin box. Dont ask me how I know they come in two sizes.

Not sure, but sounds to me like you may be talking about chucking.
We too have the Trail Air hitch and air suspension.
I immediately noticed a big difference two years ago when I switched to the Curt Q5 hitch, it virtually eliminated chucking except when extreme road conditions exist and even then it is minimized. I think it probably has to do with the very positive connection when engaged. The hitch has virtually no slop in it anywhere, any of which can contribute to causing chucking.

FYI. I spoke with Trailair today. The tri-glide is retrofitable to the earlier Trailair pin box. Measuring from front to back of the lower jaw (plate from which the pin extends) of the pin box will determine whether it is a long or medium box. Long = 25", medium = 19". Cost is $350 + shipping.
