El Paso, TX

Here are some pictures taken while using the TX 375 Loop highway. We called it the “red road” around El Paso.

These pictures show us entering the west end of the highway and going downhill off the high grades with another showing a little of one of the large pull-over sites with bathrooms and a distant view of the Rio Grande River and Mexico.

Milky Way

Clear NM skies provide perfect conditions for sky watchers. Last night I captured the Milky Way with Jupiter and Saturn from just outside the RV.

Salton City, CA

The Salton Sea is found in California's Imperial and Coachella valleys. It’s 236’ below sea level and when downwind it’s a stinky place.

Champlain, NY

When traveling north on US-11 and enter Champlain, NY, it’s going to take you right through downtown all the way to the waterfront. To get into VT you have to cross the bridge in the background of these pictures.

Iron Horse Saloon

We found that when in ND you just have to find a suitable RV park, make it your home base and hunker down for a few weeks. From there you can make numerous side trips to area attractions. For us that spot was Dickenson, ND.

One of the attractions was the Iron Horse Saloon, a famous biker hang-out. Along with all the bubbly offered, they also serve a better than average Hamburger platter.

Ships that transit through the Soo Locks are narrow and long. This is a picture of one made into a museum. The picture was taken from our tour boat while waiting to transit into Lake Superior.

Rawlings, SD

One of our pastime adventures while full timing was to visit country/rural yard sales. It’s a great place to meet the locals and find interesting things to buy. While riding up and down back streets in Rawlings, WY we spotted this dwelling with a sign above the front entrance. We thought for sure it was a local museum and stopped to visit. Well, it turned-out to be a private dwelling and the sign above the front entrance introduced the people that lived there.

CA Aqueduct

These pictures were taken from CA I-5 north of the grape vine. They show some of the engineering used to get the mighty CA aqueduct water over the mountains and into California’s Las Angle County.

I know, Duluth is in MN. When I saw the mistake it was already to late for a correction to be made.

These are a couple of pictures taken during our visit to this famous old prison. That little bit of water in the picture is what's left of the Colorado River as it meanders on into Mexico. Crossing it there puts you in CA.

Memphis, TN

While at a stop at the Hollywood Resort & Casino RV Park at Tunica, MS we took an all day van tour to Memphis. We had lunch at a rustic 1960s restaurant on Beale St. The tour took us to the famous places in the music district. When leaving there we passed-by the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was murdered.
