Fresh water dump inside help
We store our Grand Design ST3740BH-R in a barn on our property with a 50A hookup over the winter. In preparation for our RV season, sanitizing and flushing of the water system is a must. The issue I'm having is that when I do this, I need to have it outdoors because I am filling and dumping 80 gallons of water with each step. I have no means to redirect the water out of the barn, which means having to hook up to the truck and drag the RV outside, away from 50A power, for a day or two. This is also the time we're packing and loading up and in Texas, that can mean HOT! It would be nice to have 50A hookups so we can run more than just the fridge for those 2 days. And, the closest level surface to park and do this is about 500 feet from my barn, so a long 50A extension cable is just not an option for me.
So, what I am looking for is a solution to be able to fill and drain the RV while it is still in the barn. Has anyone done this? I can easily route the gray water dump outside, but the fresh water dump gate and overflow tube are my main obstacles. Also, it is really not a realistic option to "bucket collect" 80 gallons of fresh water and move it by hand. Has anyone found a a connector that fits that dump gate and one that fits the overflow tubing so this can be done indoors?
Dump gate outer diameter is approximately 2-3/8"
Overflow tubing outer diameter is approximately 7/8"
(Yes, I know I have measurements and can probably order a bunch of stuff and "trial and error" until I find the perfect fit, but I am trying to eliminate some steps.)

At least your drain valve works! Ours got torn up during a blowout. Mobile tech was able to close it, but I'll likely never be able to use it again. Good thing we're full-time and don't need to winterize. (Not helpful, I know.)

Get a pc of 1-1/2" PVC pipe and reduce it down to a garden hose fitting. You can make it a permanent or temporary setup if you want.

Another thought... you could use gutter downspouts, connected. What about your sewer hose, do you have enough length with that?

Search on Amazon for downspout collection. You’ll see several alternatives

I don't understand the dump valve, looks like 1/2 pex going in, get a 1/2 pex to garden hose fitting and add a pex shut off. How do you fill the tank now?

Get the adapter that goes on your dump connection to hose. Then run 50 to 100 hose.
Amazon has it or search for other Valtera suppliers.

OP is trying to drain his "FRESH" water tank. Look at his pics, they are the fresh water tank drain.

Have you considered just using your pump to move the water to your grey tank? That would flush out your water lines and give your grey tank a little cleaning too. I would cut the pump off after about 30 minutes to let it cool down for 30 mins or so.

Looks like he is a one n dun poster so not likely we will hear from him. I do hope he comes back!!!
Good Idea but a couple PVC fittings will do the job along with a garden hose to get rid of the water.

Or a cap that's made to drain via a garden hose, black or clear, no sense reinventing the wheel. No PVC need if pumped into gray tank.

Sure that would work but that requires running the pump and taking lots of time to let it cool down or possibly damage it for too long of a use.
Filling and dumping 80 gallons of water Via pump to grey then drain with hose is a lot of messing around IMHO. The cost of the PVC fittings is minimal.
Simple modification of the drain hole and a garden hose can take away the water.

I would do a modification but not everyone's mechanically inclined. I have a rear kitchen that has two gray tanks, dump one and move for the second. That did not last long, for about $50 I joined the rear to the main dump up front. Most everyone that's seen that it and has the two gray wants to do the mod.
