Depends on the cover.
I had a roller cover in my last truck so the biggest tank I could use was a 45 gallon RDS tank.
If I can get one delivered without being damaged I will be using a 60 gallon tank with an integrated tool box on top for my next tank.
Once that tank is installed and I figure out my transfer solution to the RV (diesel generator) I’ll pick a cover that allows the best use.

Personally I would never want to loose bed space.
If adding fuel capacity I would highly advise the TITAN 55 gallon replacement tank. Until I decide to do the TITAN I simply carry a (modified) 5 in my bed height 30" front to back tool box.

I have been using a Fuel box transfer tank. www.thefuelbox.com. Have had it about a year. I like having the extra 50 gallons of fuel plus locking storage.

I also had a Titan 65 in the last truck, the factory tank then was 37. The Titan was a great addition. Then I added the 45 bed tank.
My new truck has a 48 factory so the Titan has less value for the upgrade.

No reason to go to a Titan at $1500 to gain 7 gallons. We have used the RDS 45 gallon with the diesel connection kit on four different diesels. All without a flaw. Here's a place to start. http://www.rdsaluminum.com/auto-auxiliary.html

I think RAM offers a 50 now. If I had that I would not consider adding any more.

55-32=23 gallons, well worth it to me over any other method of storage besides my trusty 5.

I have had three Transfer Flow but they got too expensive. Current truck has a Fuel Box approx. 55 gal. Plan to do the same with the next truck.

Same fuel box I have. Except I went black. Did you go with the plug and play fuel system?

I did. Since I'm only 25 miles from them it makes it easy instead of 200 miles to Transfer Flow. Price was (don't know currently) much better and I don't notice any difference in quality.

I have the plug and play also. It works it's just sometimes it transfers when it feels like it not at just a certain level. But it does work.

KSH in Lake Havasu built me a tank that fit under the canister of the Retrax cover on my '17 450. 48 + 50 gallons was a huge factor in being able to shop fuel prices. It transferred by elec pump controlled off #1 upfitter switch.

I just had installed the Titan 55 gallon in bed tank with the pushbutton control on my lower dash. I have had the Transfer Flow and the ATTA computer controlled solutions on different past trucks. I really like having the ability to transfer fuel when I want. I have it connected to my Auxiliary Switch #1. It was $1300 installed. 55+48 makes 103ish gallons of fuel. I love it.

I installed the RDS 33 gal. $630 with the gravity feed kit. Great solution that addresses my apprehension about getting fuel on travel days.

Like the OP, I'm looking for a tank that will fit under my rolling tonneau cover. I fill up and pull away from the pump and immediately start looking for the next fuel stop. I'm lucky to get 200 miles. I have about 60" width without crowding it for plumbing. I'm restricted to 18" height, and that includes any filler cap or anything else sticking up like a pump. And I can only have about 20" front to back because of my hitch base. I have scoured the internet and found nothing that will fit. Any one know where us RVers can get one manufactured to specific dimensions?
