AC with heat pump problem????

I have a new 2017 RV with a Dometic 15,000 BTU air conditioner. The AC is equipped with a heat pump. The heat pump was working great. Now the heat pump trips the breaker after 3-4 hours of use.

I had a 2008 RV with a 15,000 BTU AC and a heat pump that gave me the same problem. Had it checked out a number of times but no one could fix it permanently.

Anyone else out there have a similar problem? If so were you able to get it fixed? If so, what was the fix?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to fix the problem permanently.

I had a problem with 2 different Dometic units called customer service both times and they were a big help. The second time ,they gave me three names and numbers of factory approved mechanic. First guy I called came right out and fixed it.

Hello hobo2,

Thanks much for the response. Do you know what the tech did to fix the problem? If not, do you still have his name and phone number so that I can call him to get more information?

If you decide to give me his name and phone number, send ma a private message.

Perhaps you'd prefer I call you for the information. If so PM me your name and phone number.

I have a service appointment with the DRV service department for Nov. 30th. Not sure if they will call Dometic to have one of their techs come over to fix the problem. Regardless, I would like to have some knowledge on possible fixes.

Thanks for your help.

Do you have a phone number for customer support? Tried looking it up but can't find anything.

Even a web site would help.

Thanks.

They will probably just replace the unit. It seems the units today are just throw away. I had to have both of mine replaced one of them was replace twice before I got two that works right.

All depends on what the voltmeter reading is, will determine if the unit gets replaced. Mine did the same, and I had mine replaced.
