We are considering installing a 1000 gallon holding tank and having it pumped on a regular basis. Is this practical? There would be two people 8-10 days per month and one person an additional 10-12 days per month. Any "best quess's" on how often it may need to be pumped? I realize there are several factors that impact it and we would not use our son's home for showers, dish cleaning or bathroom facilities. Thank you

Better open your checkbook. Having a septic company out and pump that tank even one time is going to set you back several hundred dollars. As somebody mentioned, get a macerator pump and pump it into your son's septic system. You really shouldn't need to check with a septic installer. Run the hose right into the tank.
You may run afoul of the city or county, though, if they see this.
