FL e coast to FL w coast

Has anyone traveled across rt 80 just below lake okeechobee to the west coast of fl by sarasota? Didn't want to run 50 miles south with the MS to catch 75 w since we're right around Palm Beach. Runs through a couple of small towns - didn't know if 13' hi would be a problem on a smaller road.

I live here on the west coast and have run Hwy 80 many times. Where are you trying to go? That would help. 13' is no problem as construction trucks use these roads all of the time.

Hi Pat, Sandy,

Thanks for the reply. We were going to go straight across from Palm Beach on 80 to get to the west side of FL but our plans have changed and we're going up to Ocala for the first stop & north from there. Glad to hear 80 is a good road - we'll probably use it on the way back towards the end of the year.
