Swap gooseneck to 5th wheel
Got rid of last gooseneck work trailer (retired); currently have B&W turn-over ball I use for 5th wheel. Need to avoid pickup rail damage caused by uneven turns; I tend to push limits on equipment.
Any reviews of B&W Companion 5th Wheel Gooseneck Hitch.
Any reviews for a shock absorbing pin box like: Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box
Thanks for any information.
Jack

Jack, we’ve had a number of pin boxes and found the best with the least moving parts to be the MoreRide. And congrats on the retirement!

If you want a Gooseneck adapter check out "Star Performance Hitch"
http://www.sphitch.com/default.htm
I've used their adapter successfully and smoothly for almost 10 years

Hitch
I have the BW companion works great stays in the bed all the time, one buddy has the Anderson model, says his is lighter and it make it easier to take in and out, and another buddy thought he needed a slider that uses the puck system, says he made a mistake buying that type.

Just installed my Companion & MorRyde and took first test ride. Definite improvement. My Montana has two height positions; stock was lowest setting but MorRyde required highest to keep from hitting underbelly- this lifted trailer nose 1 1/2-2" higher. Trailer is still within 2-3" of level (front to back) when towing so I'm assuming a non-issue.
Hopefully our first trip will be NW for 6 weeks starting in mid June so we'll make an overnighter close to make a total systems check before departing. BTW, wife and I will take turns driving and flying our "bush plane" and base in McCall-will be flying into many of the remote mountain strips for overnight tent camping and sightseeing-may have to learn how to fish..........
Any opinions.
Jack

No opinions, but I envy you the adventure. Where is the McCall you mentioned?

Jack, surely you have room for two more. DW and I both cook, tow, clean and are big fisher-uh-people. If begging will help we can work it out!

McCall, Idaho is approx 100+ miles north of Boise, ID. We'll be based (RV resort) near the Peyette National Forest which has dozens of Forrest Service designated strips scattered out over nearly 9,000 sq miles that are maintained by public and private groups that can be accessed by airplane-mostly backcountry strips. Mountaineer 5er has bedroom and 1/2 bath in the back so visitors are always welcome. Bring your pole and patience; I'm old, fat and cripple so learning something new is painful.
