What is the Best App for Navigation

Last year I plotted our summer travels during the evening using map quest, trying to achieve 4-6 hrs of travel time per day, staying at each location 4-5 days. I learned two very important lessons: 1st travel time during the evening isn’t the same as during the day. The 2nd lessons was a bit of a harder one, we went from a small older 5th wheel to a larger one, 13’6” including AC unit over bedroom. Wanting to travel from Assateague, VA to the Outer Banks, what should have been 6hrs turned into 13. From there I started using RVLife, but I am interested in what other apps take into consideration height, weight and other factors. Open to suggestions

Don't just rely on apps if you're concerned about roads and bridge heights get the truckers atlas from RandMcNally. I personally don't use any apps as I'm old school and I rely on my atlas and just one website when traveling as a full-time rver.

I use garmin gps for rv’s. Once you put in your stats, it will guide you correctly. My rig is 13’6 so Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel is out. Have to go over bay bridge to head south and west.

I also like the Garmin RV GPS receiver myself. But I have been accused of being a bit anal about checking routing. I check any off-interstate bridges by going into GoogleMaps Street View and actually reading the signs approaching a bridge and what is actually painted on the side of the bridge, if anything.

There is a BLM location where I tend to overnight now and then at Exit 151 on I-40 in New Mexico where you get off eastbound, turn left and go under the Interstate to the open BLM area on the north side. This bridge clearance painted on the bridge indicates only 11 feet. But the first time, my GPS routed me that way. To get there from eastbound, you can go to exit 161 to cross over and come back westbound. Getting off and back on westbound is fine, no bridge to go under.

If I had not used Google, I would have had to back up about 50 yards to get back on eastbound and come back to it westbound. So never blindly trust any navigation system. Remember, anything with the letters "RV" is terrible expensive. Use all of the resources available to you to check your routing.
