Kitchen faucet replacement
Anyone changed out the kitchen faucet ? We have the island sink, with granite counter top.
I'd like to install a better quality faucet with a taller neck, and to put it mildly, it looks to be a challenge with the space available under the sink. The original faucet was probably installed before the sink was installed, thus giving much more room to work. Not sure if it would be easier to remove the sink, or the paneling on the island so the faucet can be accessed from the rear.
Comments ?
Regards

When we replaced ours, I purchased one from Lowes and installed myself. No real issue for working space other than removing and replacing my wifes treasures from the cabinet. It only took 1/2 hour to do it all.

Did you find any slack in the PEX plumbing supply lines ? Can't tell by looking, they just disappear through the floor. My luck with plumbing will require me to make a splice in the PEX....

No problem with ours, just shut off water, drain down pressure and remove and re-install. All plastic nuts came off by hand too.
Good luck

I replaced mine about a year ago and dealer just got me another replacement. He told me that DRV has changed suppliers and it may be a little different than the original. The original was crap and both only lasted a year.

I replaced ours a couple months ago and it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. We also went to Low's and picked a better quality one, the bath room sink is next.

OK, project complete. As others have commented, it was not as bad as I was expecting. No special tools needed, but my 6" adjustable end wrench sure came in handy....there is not much room under there. Here is what I replaced the old faucet with. Pull down spray with magnetic attach, 9" neck, 15" tall.

Yep, did ours the second year we had it. I was really glad to get rid of that bathroom one that just barely reached over the sink. They were both a PITA to change but the bathroom was far worse. You won't regret getting better quality ones.

I have thought about that ofr a few years now and can't see doing it without cutting the fake Corian so as to under-mount a SS sink in a size that will suit.
Another option: that plastic c**p is so thin - mount a light under there and use it as a night light! I call it sink ambiance!

Just finished replacing our faucet. I picked up a Moen from Lowe's. It went in fairly easy. They give you a tool to attach the nut that holds everything together.

I replaced our crappy faucet last year with one that looked identical from Lowes. But the Lowes model was much better quality.
As I am a large man I took out the style between the two lower cabinet doors. Much better access. I left it out but kept it in the closet.
