Ford's Scorpion 6.7

Has anyone heard anything about when Ford's 6.7 litre "Scorpion" Power Stroke Engine will be available?

Ford

Anything you want to know about this new engine can be found on the diesel forum for Fords........ www.thedielsestop.com these guys are way past the rumor stage. It should show up after a short model run on the '10s I believe--kinda like the 7.3 to 6.0, then the 6.0 to 6.4. I believe it is going to have an urea injection system to control emissions, making it way more complicated than the 6.4 or 6.0. It also is a Ford enging, not a Navistar.
So far, Ford has marketed the 6.0 as being more fuel efficient than the 7.3--NOT--and the 6.4 as better than the 6.0 on fuel--NOT. So don't expect any better fuel mileage again til it is out and reports come back.

I don't think I would want to be first in line to purchase one until the bugs are worked out. Might be like the first 6.0 that took 2 to 3 years before they were dependable. However, it does sound great! About time Ford does something to make the Chevy and Dodge guys envious.

Why would you even want one of them???? There are other brands that are much more capable and trouble free.

At the debut of the 2011 F450 at the State Fair of Texas at Dallas, the Ford Factory Reps said the trucks will be at the dealers the first of April,2010. So far, only 32 trucks have been built to be put on display; therefore none are for sale just yet !!
They claim the trucks will get 3mpg better than previous models; all because of using injectable urea as part of the EPA emissions control.
They said the MSRP will be close to $ 70,000 for a F450 4x4 with all the goodies.

If I knew how to post pictures to this forum; I would - as I took several of the F450 !!!

new Ford

"They claim the trucks will get 3mpg better than previous models;" They claimed this on the 6.0 over the 7.3; the 6.4 over the 6.0; and now the 6.7. I don't believe it at all. None of the subsequent engines have done better. Besides, there are no EPA mileage ratings for the trucks, so all we have to go on is what we see and hear. I love my Ford(s) but I really hate getting jerked around by marketing departments.
