Planning on adding a stackableipi washer and dryer to our King of the Road trailer. I’d like to know what brands and models people have had good experiences with over the long haul.

Any opinion on ventless dryers? Most I’ve seen have not be favorable.

How are the joined units? I noticed Whirlpool has a combined unit. Anyone used one? Good, bad??

What other alternatives for a vent in the wall? I have no vent and worry about cutting a hole in the wall or would you cut a vent some other place? Route a flexible pipe some other way??

We had the combo unit and had no issues that would prevent us from buying again. The speed of washing and drying was longer than having single units, but hey, we were retired and that never became an issue. As far as the hole cut into the side wall was again not an issue, it is a 4 inch round cut. Doesn't weaken the wall or casue any undue problems. I had a louvered vent on the outside to keep unwanted bugs out when the dryer was not operating. Don't know what brand of stackable was best as we didn't want to give up the space they took.

We had the Whirlpool pair in our '05--originally the OEM units. Later, wife wanted the front-loading washer so changed them out to newer Whirlpools. Never any problem with them. Newer '15 has the Spendide pair--already burned out the dryer and had to replace out of warranty. After using them for 7 months, my wife is ready to pay for new Whirlpools. I personally have rarely used them, but a woman knows what works best for her and she wants Whirlpool. Case closed.
Would NEVER consider the ventless dryers....

Whirlpool has been really good responding about their units! The two separate units only have a non venter dryer and many say they take a long time to dry and increase the humidity in your trailer! The unit that has two units in one with a top loader hooked up to a front loader dryer. I can actually find them used really cheap!

Great link!

I also notice LG has a small unit.

I used to be Maytag oriented when they came out with a front loading washer. It was the same ones we used in Germany. Then Samsung improved their design, but in four years their service went to hell so we went to LG upon talking to our service guy. So far we have had great results!

We thought about Samsung for house appliances recently but were told be a few seemingly well informed sales people that getting parts from Samsung , for warranty or otherwise, can be problematic. Samsung supposedly uses (or at least used to use) one and only one shipping company to transport their stuff across the Pacific and about a year or so back had some issues with them, causing very long delivery times. I haven't heard lately if that's still the case or not but worth asking if a person is still looking into Samsung stuff.

We’re still waiting for a part for our Samsung washer and it’s been 4 months. Went and bought an LG this time. Works great!
