Trailair centerpoint suspension system
Just returned from a rainy trip to the north shore of Lake Superior. While hooking up I noticed that one side of the centerpoint system needed more air, so got out the compressor and attempted to get it right. It would not take air???? It was raining so did not look for anything, just drove it home. Now that I'm home does anyone have any ideas of where to start my troubel shooting? I'm thinking maybe a air line off someplace, anyone else have this type problem? Also now the track lights above the sink will not turn on so will try to find the cause.

Cant help with the suspension, but on my track lights--had same problem, several others have had this also--ended up taking suggestion of forum member to take elec conn box off of track end and expose copper tabs where the box connects to track. After several attempts to bend the tabs as was suggested, and not getting it to work, bent them severely and replaced the box. Everything has worked fine now for over 2 years.
When I say bent severely, it was hard to get the box back over the conn tabs--but it has worked ever since. I had tried MANY times to figure this out, even deciding it was never gonna work and bought a new track light. While waiting for the new light to be delivered, decided to bend the tabs to the point I might ruin them--now I have a replacement fixture I have never used.

If a line is off you should be able to hear it while putting air in. I have seen valve stems that wouldn't take air on tires. Simply replacing stem fixes this. You can pick up a air tool and stem at any parts house.

The air for the trailair syst is pretty basic. Just lines running from the back of the service panel that you can access in behind through the basement, and the lines run to each side of the axles.
Does it go down fast, slow?
Or no air going in at all? Check the valve stem as mentioned.
You can disconnect the line from the bags at the axle and check for air.
If it just leaks down slow, try putting 100 psi in it and leave over night. This helps to seat the connections (push type) then set to your req press.

Track light not working
Ron,
I hate to ask this but you didn't say. You do have shore power at home for the trailer don't you? The track light is 110 VAC only.

I too have had times when it seemed the centerpoint lines would not take air. Each time it was just a matter of getting the air tool on the valve right.

That sounds strange. My track lights are 12 volt.

I am pluged in at home, and now after wiggling them they came on. Must be a bad connection someplace. will take them apart and bend the copper tabs per wingnuts reply, and also work on the air lines this afternoon.

If the suspension fitting would not accept air, as in blocked, I'd remove the valve core and see it that was the problem first. You should be able to get another valve core from any auto parts store. Those things are pretty cheap to replace.

Update - Checked all the lines leading to the centerpoint airbag, and could not see anything wrong. Took the air chuck and moved it every which way and could not get it to take air. Then did what a number of people on this site told me, change the air valve. Working just fine after the change of valve stem. I would never have thought of that - So thanks to all for the info, turned out to be a simple fix. Track lighting at least for now is working every time. So will wait until next no go, then bend the tabs.

OOPS! I forgot. Earlier model years did have 12V track lighting. In my '07, and I believe all subsequent years, the track light is strictly AC. Not sure what model year this change took place.

Ron I had your exact problem with the track lighting.
I took the end cap off the track and replaced the connectors . All were loose. Took all of 15 minutes.
After that I pulled the cover off the wall switch and replaced thoes connectors. No problems yet and that was 2 yrs ago.

Forgot all about the wall switch--as Ponch did, you should look at the connections on the wall switch that controls the lights. Many of these switches had very loose conns and show evidence of arcing and can get very hot.
