Tight clearance above counter top

For those of you that have the penninsula models, have you had any problems with the slide hitting the counter top? Mine does not hit but it is mighty close, maybe a half inch especially on the way out. Does anybody know if there is any adjustment for this? When the slide moves in or out it seems like the topside is loose and wobbeling back and forth. Thanks

3+ years with our TK3--no problems with clearance. But we recently had Indiana Interstate cut out the part that goes under the kitchen slide. We were tired of constantly going around and 2 people could not work well with only one outlet. Now its an island and we love the opening and ability to go out either way.
If you are ever anywhere near LaGrange, IN, I would check with Paul Cross and see if he can do anything to fix the wobble.

We had the peninsula in our Elite for nearly 3 yrs. I think the slideouts drop down slightly going out and up coming in.

The only problem I noticed was things would roll down the countertop into the slideout floor. Once, I found pencil lead sticking out the rubber gasket on the outside of the slide. No easy access from inside, but luckily, it was a short pencil and came out through the hole.

But like Wingnut, neither one of us liked the confined space, so we ordered an Island plan on the MS.

We have the kitchen Isle, got the idea from (Hitchup). We had the TK 3 before and other 5th wheels with the 1 butt kitchen and didn't like them at all. And the other Kitchen Isle's we had seen were very small. The extended Kitchen Isle we have now is awesome, lots more room and no loss of storage space. It also makes it much easier to reach things in the Glass and dish cabine. And we have no issues with the table hitting the Extended Kitchen Isle its designed were it can't hit the Extended Isle. Also you have excellent storage in both ends of the Extended Kitchen Isle. We now have a 2 Butt kitchen.....

We Have a 2004 RS3, this was the original Island model. We have not had any problems with anything hitting. When we order a new DRV we will have the Island no matter what floor plan we decide on.

We ordered our unit in Aug 2008 and intended to get a 36RSSB3. But we found out when we contacted a dealer by phone, DRV had just added a couple of new floorplans. I didn't like the desk/cabinet in the 38TKSB3 blocking off the view to the television and we definitely didn't want the peninsula island anymore.

The 38RSSB floorplan didn't exist for 2009. But living in our 2006 36TK3, we knew through the Suite forum members that it was easy to change a TK into an Island. Since we had granite in our Elite and both of us wanted a SB, we jumped on the opportunity to customize our new one.

They labeled the unit a 38TKSB. Frame show 38RLSB/38TKSB. They reconfigured the entertainment ctr and the peninsula countertop into an Island. We also had the Island extended into the living rm an additional 12" which gave us an end cabinet.

Kitchen area and counter in the slide is the exact configuration of the 36TK3 ES we had traded in. So the ent ctr is wider since we gained some length in the 38' living area.

From what I've seen in the new 2011 38RSSB's, they have enlarged the kitchen counter in the slide, while making the ent ctr somewhat smaller than our 71" one. So ours may be truly "one of a kind". Especially now with the 2011 dinette added by Indiana Interstate Ent.

I agree and thanks to Vickie we have the extended Kitchen Isle and would want nothing else. We also didn't like the desk area because we had rather have extra space in the TV area. We did notice that the 2011's have a smaller TV area, which we didn't like due to the loss of space in the TV area. We have our Printer, Scanner, Fax machine in that space.

We also checked into getting the new Dinette but decided we didn't need the extra space vs the cost. We only travel with two Chairs for the table. We do have the folding chairs but have never used them.....

Our frame numbers are 38 RLSB-TKSB, and by the door it 38 RSSB 3. We ask about why it was labeled 38 RSSB 3 because we have the 4 slide which they call a vanity slide... Which we are really pleased with the extra room and very little loss in space. We don't need the extra space because we don't have to take a lot of extra things. We have a W/D so we can do laundry when needed. But floor plans are choices, however we are very pleased with ours. However we wish we had removed the window behind the TV, its really not used, we have never open the window.
