Tire Pressure

We are waiting for our 39DBRS to arrive. Does some one know the recommended tire pressure. I would like to get a small compressor but would like it to handle the pressure these tires need.

You need a 150psi compressor to actually fill to 125psi.

Cummins is right. We have had two different air compressors capable of 150 pounds pressure. The first was a Craftsman unit from about 10 years or so ago, and for it to fill a tire to 125 psi, I had to make sure that the last few pounds had the compressor actually running. I even had an additional 5 gallon tank hooked to it to get more volume, but even that wasn't enough.

Then, a few years ago, I went to purchase a small compressor for a place we worked as volunteers. I purchased the $100 Porter-Cable compressor with 6 gallon capacity and 150 pound psi max. It did a LOT better job than the Craftsman, so I gave the Craftsman to a friend who had nothing at all and bought a Porter-Cable for us. Haven't regretted doing that.

Porter Cable has a 165 PSI pancake compressor that works even better since the cut in pressure is 135.

We also have the Porter Cable 150 psi compressor and it handles the Suites tire pressure with no problems.

What is the consensus on the Viair line of 12 volt compressors

They are good but get the continuous duty model.

They are good, warranty response when I had a cracked cylinder was quick.

As Cummins said the continuous duty models would be the preferred.

But be aware most of the Viair's with a continuous duty rating of 100% duty cycle rating is at pressure far less than the rated pressure. Example my 100% duty Cycle 200 psi compressors were 100% duty at 100 psi.

The newest 200 psi version ('plus' I think) is rated 100% DC at 200 psi.

Please show me where it says anything over 80psi on any GY ENDURANCE tire.

GREAT tire for sure but the MAX pressure is 80PSI on the "E" rated tires.

You must be referring to 17.5 tires not 16"

My 17.5 are 125 psi at 4800 lbs. As I'm at 7500 per axle I run 100 psi.

Yes, in response to the OP who said he was waiting for his 39DBRS3 to arrive, so I 'assumed' he has a new one on order which comes standard with 17.5" Goodyears, at least for now.

I have the same tires. I run 100 psi. Max pressure will give you 4880 lbs of carrying capacity each. Your axles are rated at 8,000 lbs. No need for 125 lbs

Air pressure is determined by the actual load the tire is carrying! "IF" you want to run less than the MAX you need to know what the tires are carrying and use the weight/inflation chart for your tire size and load range then add 5psi to what the chart says. This is directly from GY Tech support.

Axle ratings have NOTHING to do with what pressure you should run.
